¡Kreisler: The Complete Recordings 7
¡Fritz Kreisler (violin)

 Description
[Machine Translation] In World War I, Kreisler participated in the war as a lieutenant in the army, but was seriously wounded and discharged from the army. He returned to New York and resumed performing, but for various reasons his activities did not take off, and he eventually returned to Europe, touring the Far East including Japan in 1923, and from 1924 to 1934, he was based in Berlin. This seventh collection is a collection of recordings from this tumultuous period. Of particular importance is the HMV recording of the ensemble with Kreisler's talented cellist Hugo, Kreisler's younger brother by nine years. The sound, full of rich cantabile, which seems to have been influenced by Fritz, is truly typical Viennese style. A wonderfully breathy performance. The recording with pianist Lamson on the Victor Talking Machine is the first electrical recording.
