¡Koya no Koe - Cello Concertos (Japanese Title)
¡Classical V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] The first album in cpo's new series "Works by Jewish Composers in Exile" features the cello concertos by Hans Gall and Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Wolfish's parents, who are playing on the album, are also Holocaust survivors who fled to England, and knowing the turbulent lives of his parents, Wolfish sees the issue as something so close to home that he cannot avoid it. His parents met Goldschmidt and Hans Gall when they were in England, and Tedesco was the composer who wrote the cello concerto for Wolfish's teacher, Piatigorsky. Wolfish has a strong sympathy for these two works, and here too the performance is full of emotion. This is the world premiere recording of Tedesco's work. [Performed by] Raphael Wolfish (cello) / Nicholas Milton (conductor) / Konzerthausorchester Berlin
