¡Suppe: Il Ritorno del Marinaio
¡Opera

 Description
[Machine Translation] Austrian composer Suppe ( 1819-1895 ), known for his comedies "The Light Horseman" and "The Poet and the Farmer". Born in Italy, he moved to Vienna and composed more than 100 works. The "The Returning Sailor," commissioned by the Hamburg Opera, has a romantic melody and content. The score was lost after the premiere, but the Italian version, whose translator is unknown, has survived in a library in Vienna, and this performance was made possible by combining a partial copy of Suppe's autograph score with an arrangement for piano accompaniment. The sweet melody is further enhanced by the fact that it is sung in Italian. Performed by Adriano Martinolli d'Arcy (conductor), Rijeka Opera Orchestra & Chorus.
